I freaking loved this! First two of my favourite narrators did what they do best! Second Nicci this was such a great first book in a new series! The world building wasn’t dumped on you it was effortlessly written and easy to digest. It took me a bit to warm up to the MMC but when I did he was everything. The side characters were also amazing and honestly this book series could go on forever giving all the side characters a book.

If you’re here for obsessive alpha vibes, age-gap/size-difference kink, and futuristic breeding drama, Born For Silk delivers—but don’t expect much beyond that. The world-building is creative and detailed, with a dystopian society of genetically modified humans and strict vocations, though plot and character depth are limited.

Narrated by CJ Bloom and Sean Masters, the audiobook brings Aster and Rome’s possessive, steamy relationship to life. Their obsession and tension are clear, and the narrators give distinct voices to the supporting cast, including Odio the Eagle, adding warmth and balance.

Long stretches of inactivity and loose ends keep the story from fully landing, but for listeners who prioritise romance and world-building over emotional depth, this duet performance makes it an enjoyable listen.
