I've loved this series since the first book and had the privilege of an ARC for this one. I was not disappointed. It has age gap, bodyguard, a strong alpha male and compassionately handles mental health.
I knew it would have an emotional component due to the mental health issues associated with Tuscany. Being prepared for that made it somewhat easier, but it was still a heartbreaking read at times.
I liked how we're given enough to discern what happened to Tuscany to understand the horror and devastation she goes through. It is done without being outright gory and highlights the depth of Kong's love for her and their connection.
The depth of Kong's character is revealed further to us from who he was in Born for Silk for his king, and who he needs to be for his little queen in Born for Marble.
A couple of my favourite quotes: "Open your lips and eat and I will do the same"..."No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't cut you to stone".
