S2 E29: This week on the DL: Kids and Transitions

  • Summary

  • Alex and Amanda sit down this week to discuss all things transitions. We see it every day, not just in divorce, but the real question is how can we help our kids with these transitions?

Transitions for kids can look like: going to a new school, a new home, maybe even a new neighbourhood. It could also look like going to summer camp for the first time, to a first sleepover, taking transit or walking to and from school alone.

Transitions for children of divorce, however, can look different: it might be a new parenting schedule, going from one home to the other, afterschool care for the first time, maybe more time at a grandparents' house or maybe even just something small like not having all their "stuff" at both parents' homes. Whatever it is for your kids, tune in for some helpful tips and tricks to ease the burden or transition (for you and the kids!).
