Story
From a young age, Ed Gamble's immaculate bibs and extremely dirty nappies hinted at his capacious appetite. Before he could walk, Ed already knew that he preferred poached salmon to puree, that celery was a calorie-sapping waste of time, and that mashed potatoes should be made with lashings of butter. Whilst he might ordinarily have been upset by the calls of 'precocious little s--t' coming from his family, he was too busy stuffing his gob and staging rebellions against the patronising list of misery that is a children's menu.

Story
In Alan Partridge: Nomad, Alan dons his boots, windcheater and scarf and embarks on an odyssey through a place he once knew - it's called Britain - intent on completing a journey of immense personal significance. Diarising his ramble in the form of a 'journey journal', Alan details the people and places he encounters, ruminates on matters large and small and, on a final leg fraught with danger, becomes not a man (because he was one to start off with) but a better, more inspiring example of a man.

He knew that in order to stay clean he'd have to replace everything social media used to give him with three-dimensional real-life activities.

I will never read an autobiography again.
- By Anonymous User on 20-01-2018
Publisher's Summary
Ever wondered just how much of life you can understand through poetry?
Tim Key is never far from stage and screen - from Peep Show to Alpha Papa to Taskmaster. But now he's back doing what he does best - attempting to recite poetry whilst tormenting his friend and musician, the equally brilliant and long-suffering Tom Basden.
From ruminating on the meaning of family via his narrative poem 'The Godfather', attempting to get to the bottom of death via his poem 'The Boy Who Faked His Own Death' and also organising an impromptu stag party, Tim Key uses poetry to help him understand every situation.
Audio updated April 2019.
Critic Reviews
"...you never know when Key will suddenly toss you a fantastic joke or startlingly well-constructed line." (Radio Times)
"In any other sphere apart from comedy, we'd probably class this way of looking at the world as certifiable. Here it feels like genius." (The Telegraph)
"The show...has a kind of artistry and strange beauty that makes it unlike any other hour of stand-up you are likely to see." (The Observer)

Entertaining & aggravating
I enjoyed this BUT Tom/Lord & Megan were frustrating - he being inexplicably incapable of standing up to him, & her oblivious to Tim trying to steal her away from Tom. The poems were mostly good, though.
