Publisher's Summary

From the author of beloved top 10 best sellers The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies Book Club and The Shelly Bay Ladies Swimming Circle comes a delightful new novel about friendship, love and finding yourself.

Far North Queensland, 1993: at 74, former cane farmer Grace Maud is feeling her age, and her isolation, and thinks the best of life may be behind her. Elsewhere in town, high school teacher Patricia has given up on her dreams of travel and adventure and has moved back home to look after her ageing parents, while cafe owner Dorothy is struggling to accept that she may never have the baby she and her husband so desperately want. Each woman has an unspoken need: reconnection. And that's how they find themselves at Orange Blossom House, surrounded by perfumed rainforest, being cajoled and encouraged by their yoga teacher, the lively Sandrine. Together, they will find courage and strength—and discover that life has much more to offer than they ever expected.

Set amid the lush beauty of tropical Queensland, Thursdays at Orange Blossom House is a heartwarming story of friendship and family, of chances missed and taken, and the eternal power of love.

I didn’t want it to end. The characters were relatable and felt almost like friends by the end. Easy listening.

Falling in love with friendship

I felt a bit of peer pressure to read this book but I’m so glad I succumbed to it. It’s a wonderful story about friendship and loyalty. I thought the three main characters were so recognisable and true to form. So wonderful to read such a wonderful book.

Friendship discovery

Enjoyed the book very much and the narration was excellent. The story follows three very different women who are isolated, each in their own way. Their road to friendship is yoga of which I have no experience. Nevertheless it makes for a creative foundation for the journey. Set in the 90s, a transformative decade in my own life, and neighbouring Australia, I could identify with many aspects of the book. I did find the family dynamics very foreign I'm very happy to say. I also found some attitudes a little unbelievable ... like female teachers being forced to wear skirts by their male principal ... and obeying! A worthwhile read.

Great relatable story

Loved the premise and the characters, especially Grace Maude. Beautifully narrated although I found Dorothy tone of voice a bit wimpy. Loved Sondrine and agree with understanding of yoga and how it enriches one’s life and helps peel back our layers. Great read!

Beautiful book

I loved listening to this book. Beautiful to have yoga as part of the storyline. I was left wondering about Dorothy‘s sister and felt a few of the other storylines weren’t finished. However, overall I really enjoyed.
