Nat's What I Reckon was the tattooed lockdown saviour we didn't know we needed, rescuing us from packet food, jar sauce and total boredom with his hilarious viral recipe videos that got us cooking at home like champions again. Now that we've cooked our way out of lockdown and are wondering what the hell to do next, Nat's back - and he's ready to teach us more about life in this thoroughly unhelpful (but maybe actually kinda helpful) self-help guide.

Story
Welcome to Jeremy's farm. It's an idyllic spot, offering picturesque views across the Cotswolds, bustling hedgerows, woodlands and natural springs. Jeremy always liked the idea being a farmer. But, while he was barrelling around the world having more fun with cars than was entirely reasonable, it seemed obvious that the actual, you know, farming was much better left to someone else. Then one day he decided he would do the farming himself. After all, how hard could it be?

Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction,” eating little and weighing herself five times a day. She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income.

everything. An author sweats and toils to birth a tome with such colossal cultural impact, it has the power to retune the entire world to a whole new frequency. This is absolutely not one of those books. Not even close. And actually, that all sounds a bit much really, doesn't it? Rhys Nicholson is a multi-award winning comedian, writer and busy mum with an anxiety disorder, a complicated relationship with food and a book deal. In Dish, a debut whack at writing an entire book, Nicholson is reaching out to get some stuff straight in their head.

Story
Like most of us, Toni Lodge tells little white lies all the time. Whether it's "I'm five minutes away" or "It must have gone to my spam folder", most of these innocent fibs are harmless. But what if you realised that you weren't just lying about the little things, but the big "life" stuff too? When Toni sat down to write this memoir, she realized that the lies she was telling herself were hiding some pretty important home truths—about her work, her identity and her mental health. In her dogged pursuit of these truths, she brazenly explores everything.

Christian Hull is a hardcore introvert. He loves being a little bit famous for his videos, but at the end of the day, he's a lone wolf - more interested in Caramilk on the couch than cocktails in the club. He's a strong believer in Netflix and chilling at home, alone - he’s always the first to smoke-bomb social events, and he is in a committed relationship with his indoor plants. Christian tells his behind-the-scenes story with his signature, completely unapologetic honesty.

Great book
- By Megan Ruby on 23-05-2021
Publisher's Summary
Some advice suits certain people more than others.
Some advice is...redundant waffle.
And Nat's What I Reckon refuses to let it slide! Ya see, Nat's got a loud mouth and a taste for taking the piss out of stuff—it's how he lives, laughs and loves.
Now, his target's the tired old life advice he's had enough of:
Man up. Good vibes only. No pain no gain. Carpe diem.
What a punish!
Nat has zero qualifications as a philosopher or life coach, and he doesn't feel like becoming one anytime soon. But as someone who has struggled to find the ray of positivity in most days of his life, he knows what it's like to feel the relief from a moment of joy.
So buckle up for Nat's unrequested take on pushing back against expectations and rolling through life with some laughs and kindness like a real, righteous ratbag!

An absolute WEAPON for the mental health arsenal
This book’s changed the mental health game for me. It’s so truthfully articulated, and talks about a lot of stuff we’ve probably been thinking, but never talked about before. I’ll recommend this book until I die, to anyone that’s ever been through a roughie (everyone).

it's good to hear a grown ass man be proud of feeling the way he does, not the way we're told we should.
It's good to listen to someone that thinks being empathetic and a good person is cool, because it is, and it's not common to see or hear

Great listen.
What a great read, funny and informative. Looking at life through the eyes of someone that struggles about has shown me that some people just struggle and to listen and talk can do the world of good. Thanks Nat for this great book, can’t wait for the next one.

Bloody ripper
This book (audio, whatever Trevor) is fkn fantastic!! Appreciate all you do mate. I just listened to your other book so this one isn’t as fresh in my head tbh.. but it helped me feel less alone while going through some pretty intense mental health stuff- and I I thoroughly enjoyed your takedowns of toxic bro/man-up culture. By not trying to be a self-help guru/taking yourself too seriously, your work has managed to do a lot more for my head than any of those self-help wankers could.
First audio books I’ve finished within a day or two (not for lack of trying).
THANK YOU!

Well fucking said
I seriously thought I was the only person who got fucking mad when I see positivity signs… over and over iv thought about it..
“fuck how can a good vibes sign make me angry”
“How can a sign with live love laugh make me so built up with aggression inside”
Truth is in this book. Simple words that are said from a genuine human being (Nat) (instead of social media drumming into our faces we need to be a certain way) has made me feel far less alone and taken the fucking pressure of me to be living some sort of unrealistic lifestyle that I hate,… I’m a simple woman who likes good people and simple good pleasures (curried egg sangers, playing guitar with the band being a couple of them), i mean,, Jeeze, I don’t even want to travel and pretend I’m searching for something,,, cos I’m not. Thanks heaps for the advice (which I actually didn’t know I needed) When the pressure rises,,, I’ll remember that my dog doesn’t need a sign to wag his tail or not. … I don’t need someone telling me to ‘live my best life’ the same day I’m reliving trauma from my past. I just need some simple shit to know I’m doing alright and that tomorrow could be a bit better than today. Cheers Nat, you bloody champion.
Ps, this is the first review iv ever given for anything,,, I usually just think they won’t even read it or it’s all bullshit anyway… but this time I actually want you to know that you’ve helped
heaps by bringing me back out of some bullshit unreasonable expectation moment in life. Even the most zero dickface people can get sucked in from time to time due to the amount of crap in our faces each day. Thanks again mate.

BIG YES!
Read a lot of ‘self help’ and mindfulness books and def recommend this one. This is a refreshing and helpful personal offering that I connect with in ways I wish I had with other books. Giving ‘it’s okay to not be okay’ vibes but without an ounce of toxic positivity in sight. Thanks for this awesome resource!
