Publisher's Summary

With her ex soon to be married, her mum back on the dating scene, and her best friend threatening to settle down with the Most Boring Man Alive, Stevie is feeling left behind.

To top it off, her old uni mate Johnno West, whom she hasn't seen for years, keeps turning up as best man at Stevie's jobs. And he is looking so good.

Perhaps their youthful pact—that if they were both still single in their early thirties they'd get together—is not so crazy after all?

Then the enigmatic Charlie Jones walks into the frame.

Capturing the heartbeat of rural Australia, Five Bush Weddings is an uplifting romantic comedy about looking for love, second chances and what really matters when the bouquet has been thrown, the swag's been rolled up and the party's over.

A lovely story but…

I highly recommend this book despite the fact that it’s peppered with horrible mispronunciations which could have been avoided by better production. The story and acting are good, but both narrators seem to just have a stab at unfamiliar words instead of checking! It’s quite irritating…

An Aussie gem

I love rural Australian towns for the setting of a story. They lend themselves well to a gamut of crazy characters - wild friends, nosy neighbours, gossiping oldies, match making mothers, exes that have moved on, too good to be true new loves, hot former loves...they are heartwarming and perfect with a cup of tea.

Even though I'm not that fussed on the main character, Stevie, a photographer who hasn't found her forever love yet, I was still wrapped up in the rest of the characters and wanted to see how it all panned out. It was a tad drawn out in places but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love that it was set in Queensland (my home state) and loved hearing names of towns and places that I've been to. It brings the story even closer to me.

So enjoyable.

Loved this.
Being a Queenslander, and a Brissie girl it was fabulous to recognise so many places. Written and narrated with feeling, I really enjoyed Clare's book

Good Aussie story but mispronounced words from the narrator were disappointing

Although I enjoyed the story and the Australian setting, the number of words that the narrators mispronounced was off putting. I am surprised that a producer or editor did not pick this up and correct them. Words such as tryst, crowed and stifled are just some of the words mispronounced. That being said, it was nice to have dual narrators reading the story from Stevie and Johnno’s perspectives.

Perfect Road Trip Partner

I loved this book from the moment I read the back which was further enhanced by the vocal reading. The narrators really brought the Ozzie to the scenes so much so the accent could almost be another character. My enjoyment overflowed as I listened to this story one I relate to strongly. I thoroughly appreciated the authenticity of all the characters a quality I believe many of our country folk here in Australia have whether they know it or not.
