Publisher's Summary

She’s meant to be catching flights, not catching feelings....

Molly and Andrew are just trying to get home to Ireland for the holidays when a freak snowstorm grounds their flight.

Nothing romantic has ever happened between them: They’re friends, and that’s all. But once a year, for the last ten years, Molly has spent seven hours and fifteen minutes sitting next to Andrew on the last flight before Christmas from Chicago to Dublin, drinking terrible airplane wine and catching up on each other’s lives. In spite of all the ways the two friends are different, it’s the holiday tradition neither of them has ever wanted to give up.

Molly isn’t that bothered by Christmas, but—in yet another way they’re total opposites—Andrew is a full-on fanatic for the festive season, and she knows how much getting back to Ireland means to him. So, instead of doing the sane thing and just celebrating the holidays together in America, she does the stupid thing. The irrational thing. She vows to get him home. And in time for his mam’s famous Christmas dinner.

The clock is ticking. But Molly always has a plan. And—as long as the highly specific combination of taxis, planes, boats, and trains all run on time—it can’t possibly go wrong.

What she doesn’t know is that, as the snow falls over the city and over the heads of two friends who are sure they’re not meant to be together, the universe might just have a plan of its own....

A totally gorgeous and escapist friends-to-lovers festive romance with a swoon-worthy hero. Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Mhairi Macfarlane, and Christina Lauren.

Long holiday

This had a lot of potential- I thought it was going to be an Irish version of You and Me on Vacation by Emily Henry. It was let down by being just far too long, at least four hours too long, and there wasn’t as much tension between the back and forth timelines as the set-up promised. Narrator was excellent though.

Maybe friends to lovers just isn’t for me…

I mean it was fine. Well written and I enjoyed listening to it for the most part. It just didn’t seem to have any tension or much conflict at all really. Very few obstacles to overcome bar travel inconveniences. Maybe it’s because I’m more of a fan of the lovers to enemies trope. The romance was just a little too easy for the characters for my taste and I lost interest part way through.

Absolutely loved it!

Could NOT stop listening, not only was it a gorgeous story of friendship, family & love, it was bloody funny! I laughed inappropriately in public a few too many times! The most loveable characters I’ve read in a long time, but also very believable!

Irritating like being stuck in an airport

The whole way through this book I just felt anxious as if I was stuck in transit with the main characters. There were some bright spots, an escapade in London for example, but it really just felt like a chore getting through this book. I won’t be buying Catherine Walsh’s other books.

Slow burn

A slow love story, told in modern day with poignant flashbacks. The pace is definitely more sedate than others by this author, but it helps show just how this relationship has grown slowly over time. I can imagine this being made into a Christmas movie, and I hope it is!

They actually communicate

The people in this book continually communicate with each other and use their words to explain where their head is at. Amazing.

Easy listening

This was a lovely easy listening book. You get caught up in the characters, and can anticipate what is going to happen. It was a holiday romance book.
