Story
As a child, Devlin Ware thought his family stood for all that was right and good in the world. They were kind, gracious, and shared the beauty of Ravenwood, their grand country estate, by hosting lavish parties for the entire countryside. But at 22, he discovered his whole world was an elaborate illusion, and when Devlin publicly called his family to account for it, he was exiled as a traitor. So be it. He enlisted in the fight against Napoleon and didn't look back for six years. But now his father is dead, the Ware family is broken, and as the heir he is being called home.

Story
In 1761, on a sunny day in September, a King and Queen met for the very first time. They were married within hours. Born a German Princess, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was beautiful, headstrong, and fiercely intelligent… not precisely the attributes the British Court had been seeking in a spouse for the young King George III. But her fire and independence were exactly what she, and her King, needed. Because George has secrets… secrets with the potential to shake the very foundations of the monarchy.

"... and a Sixpence in Her Shoe"

Gorgeous
I can’t recommend this audiobook enough. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Four talented authors join forces in this book to each tell the unique tale of a bosom buddy’s experience with the Six Pence. The tight-knit friendship created between the 4 girls is both precious and endearing. The writing is fantastic, the flow seamless, and the narration perfection.
Being a Bridgerton fan, this was one of the very first audiobooks I placed on my Wishlist because of Julia Quinn. However, it wasn’t until I recently started looking for audiobooks narrated by Mary Jane Wells that I was compelled to purchase. I wish I’d done so sooner and if you have it in your wish list or are contemplating purchasing, do not hesitate!

Narrator disappointing
Rosland Landor is such a good narrator of Julia Quinn's books, that I find this narrator disappointing and difficult to listen to.
