She left at eighteen–after years of abuse and living in communes in three countries–devastated and isolated, searching for meaning in her life. Today, that woman is Professor Debbie Haski-Leventhal, who specialises in finding meaning in our personal and professional lives.

Worth it, if you’re ready.
Works for me. Many concepts I was already familiar with, but the author’s meditations, exercises and pacing helped me go deeper.
It’s not a Sunday stroll, but since I’d been searching for a new approach, it was worth the uncomfortable work.
My dad died 1 year ago. So there was that. But it helped me work through older issues too.
I appreciated the author’s sharing. It made it all feel more authentic.
So, I highly recommend… if you’re ready to do the work.

Mary has a wonderful way with words, this book sounds like caring wisdom from a loving aunt. Mary is honest and humble, and provides great insights into why our brains do what they do, and very practical ways to try to remedy some of the less desirable habits we pick up in our formative years.
