Narrator voices

The story was fine although DC Brown was a bit silly at times. The narrator lost me at times in the conversations as I wasn’t sure who was talking.

Very ordinary and predictable.

A truly obvious whodunnit - for most of the book I was thinking "how stupid are these cops?"

None of the regular cast of characters are particularly beguiling and the author should really steer clear of trying to write from a female perspective (i.e. the "love interest" of DS Costello").

The narrator does an excellent job as far as acting and accents go. But he has an annoying habit which someone should really point out to him. If a new sentence begins with a person's name, he does this EVERY TIME: "O'Hare?!...[long pause] sipped his tea", "Anderson?!...[long pause] looked up", "Costello?!...[long pause] shifted in her chair". Nine hours of that and I was ready to scream!

Absolute page turner

Fantastic plot twists turns and excellent characters narration as usual evocative.
The winter setting added creepiness
