Verne Wheelwright, PhD. is an internationally recognized professional in the field of Foresight and Futures Studies (Futurist). He is the author of It's YOUR Future...Make It A Good One!(2010) selected by the Association of Professional Futurists as "Most Important Futures Work". Wheelwright's newest book is "Small Business Foresight" available in hard-cover and Kindle editions. Wheelwright has been active in small businesses since about 1960. In about 1975 he started a one-person business devoted to exporting a variety of products from the U.S. to Asia and later to Europe and India. He participated in partnerships, but returned to the one-person organization in 1992. Sales in the mid 1990s exceeded five million dollars annually. Wheelwright earned his Master’s degree in Studies of the Future at the University of Houston, Clear Lake in 2000. His Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration is from the University of Oregon. Translations of "It's YOUR Future..." include: O SENIN Gelecegin (Turkish), Es TU Futuro... Hasta Bueno! (Spanish) and キミの人生だ...いいものにしよう！(Japanese) and انه مستقبلك: فلتجعله جيدا!!! (Arabic). Wheelwright has also authored The Personal Futures Workbook 4th Ed. (2011)and the Small Business Foresight Workbook. The Personal Futures Workbook is available as a free PDF downloads at his web site (www.personalfutures.net and www.smallbusinessforesight.com). The Personal Futures Workbook is also available in print editions as "YOUR Workbook" and "Un Taller de Futuros Personales" on Amazon worldwide. Wheelwright has published articles about foresight in a number of professional journals and other publications. Wheelwright conducts workshops and addresses audiences in the U.S. and internationally. In 2015 he joined the visiting faculty of the university Tecnologico de Monterrey (the largest university in Mexico) where he taught Personal Futures and Small Business foresight. Wheelwright is a charter member of the Association of Professional Futurists, and a member and Fellow of the World Future Studies Federation. His business and personal travels have taken him to over fifty different countries, offering him insights and an awareness of worldwide cultures and trends. His interests over the years have included skiing, water sports, mountain climbing, scuba diving, sports car racing, flying and writing. As a child, Wheelwright lived in Grangeville, Idaho, moving to Milwaukie, Oregon when he was twelve and living in the Portland area until 1983. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon (business), earned a Masters degree in Futures Studies at the University of Houston Clear Lake and a PhD. at Leeds Metropolitan University. He and his wife now live in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
