Thomas Henry Pope was always going to be a novelist. But wanderlust came first. Like Kerouac before him, he worked in California vineyards, motorcycles shops, and construction. He also had a good run as a singer/songwriter. His novels draw on his travels: Eastern Europe before The Wall came down, Asia, South America, the Middle East, Alaska, and America's western forests. His Cold War thriller Imperfect Burials won the 2023 Page Turner Award for Best Historical Fiction. Three more books starring renegade journalist Finn Waters will complete the series. The Trouble with Wisdom (2022) is a hero's journey in the dystopian world of 2055. The Last Redwood Circus (2023) brings together three young visionaries from separate cultures in a story of heroism, protest and sacrifice. He grows his own food on a forest farm in Vermont.
