Meet D Byron, a musician turned author who has taken the literary world by storm with their debut book. Originally from Saint Joseph, Missouri, D Byron always had a passion for music, starting their career as an alternative punk singer and guitar player in their early twenties. They toured extensively, playing in different countries and in front of diverse audiences, honing their skills as a performer and songwriter. While on tour, D Byron discovered a love for literature and began reading voraciously, often spending long hours with books on their tour bus. Inspired by the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky and David Foster Wallace, they started writing in their spare time, crafting stories that reflected their own experiences and emotions. As their passion for writing grew, D Byron found themself increasingly drawn to the world of literature and decided to take a break from their music career to focus on writing. They enrolled in writing courses at Missouri Western State University under the mentorship of William "Bill" Church, where they honed their craft and started working on their debut novel. Their hard work paid off when their first book, The Yelkin's Prophecy: Escape the Tolbich Foundry, was self-published on Amazon. The book tells the story of a young Yelkin named Gemstone growing up as a slave in the Tolbich Foundry, and has been praised for its vivid characters, beautiful prose, and poignant themes. Since then, D Byron has continued to write and has several more books forthcoming. Although D Byron no longer performs music professionally, their love for music has never faded. You can find their music on Amazon under the name "The Antmen of Neopop" and their solo album "D Byron - Selling Sounds to the Deaf." They often draw inspiration from their musical background and incorporate it into their writing, creating stories that are both lyrical and deeply emotional. With their unique perspective and powerful voice, D Byron is a rising star in the literary world, and one to watch for years to come.
