Ann Hedreen is a writer, documentary filmmaker, teacher and author of Her Beautiful Brain, a memoir (She Writes Press), which was awarded first place in its category in the 2016 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. She is the creator of The Restless Nest blog, which won an honorable mention in the 2016 National Society for Newspaper Columnists blog competition. Together, she and her husband Rustin Thompson have made more than 150 films, including several full-length documentaries, some of which (Quick Brown Fox: an Alzheimer's Story; The Church on Dauphine Street) are available on Amazon. Ann's writing has also appeared in 3rd Act Magazine, About Place Journal, Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, the Seattle Times and other publications. She has an MFA from Goddard College and a BA from Wellesley College. Ann speaks and writes frequently about Alzheimer's disease. She also volunteers regularly as a control subject for Alzheimer's research, and has done five spinal taps for the cause. She and Rustin live in Seattle. She is working on a book of essays.
