Publisher's Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Anna has just lost her taste for the Big Apple…

She has a life to envy. An apartment in New York. A well-meaning (too well-meaning?) partner. And a high-flying job in beauty PR. Who wouldn’t want all that?

Anna, it turns out.

Trading a minor midlife crisis for a major life event, she switches the skyscrapers of Manhattan for the tiny Irish town of Maumtully (population 1,217), helping old friends Brigit and Colm set up a luxury coastal retreat.

Tougher than it sounds. Newflash: the locals hate the idea. So much so, there have been threats – and violence.

Anna, however, worked in the beauty industry. There’s no ugliness she hasn’t seen. No wrinkle she can’t smooth over.

There’s just one fly in the ointment – old flame Joey Armstrong.

He’s going to be her wingman.

Never mind their chequered history. Never mind what might have been.

Because no matter how far you go, your mistakes will still be waiting for you . . .

Furiously funny and stealthily profound. There’s so much depth, but reading it made me feel happier and lighter than I have in ages – it’s sexy, smart, wise, touching and fun' Daisy Buchanan

'Keyes’s is so good at upping the tension in will they/won’t they scenarios, keeping the characterisation rich and the jokes frequent. She somehow keeps it both light and intensely important at the same time' i

Love the storyline. Love the authors voice- read the way it was meant to be understood.

Don't like that I cannot share this book even though I bought it. Not the authors fault of course.

Marian, you've done it again.

Marian Keyes gave me back my love of reading over 20 years ago. she writes as though we are close friends and I'm catching up with her news. She writes with wisdom, experience, humour and empathy. i loved this book as I always love her books. I feel like the Walsh family have been my neighbours. i know them all so well. Thank you Marian.

Classic Keyes

Marian Keyes has delivered another chapter in the Walsh saga and done it with the usual terrific blend of happiness, tragedy and all the wonderful characters you could possibly want. The setting is fantastic and the small town politics and interactions are utterly credible. Mammy Walsh will never be anything other than hilarious, and it was great to have her pop up. I found myself almost not wanting the expected happy ending but Keyes managed to create a conclusion which rang true and was ultimately very satisfying. Having read all the Walsh family books, I feel like I have grown with the characters, including Anna, and this is a rare and joyful experience.

This version is read by the author and she brings every word the life you can tell she intended the book to have.

My favourite family

Marian Keyes reading it really brought the characters to life. The Walsh family has long been a favourite of mine but now I really know them. Great story, lots of funny moments, great characters - pure escapism.

Comforting and caring

What a joy to listen to Marian narrate this book. All the highs and lows of Anna’s friendships, loves and life brought such a sense of knowing the Walsh family and loving them all.

Another wonderful layer to the Walsh family

As always, Marian has led us on a wonderful path full of quirky characters, with lots of tears and laughter thrown in

Watching the character development of complicated Anna and Narky Joey was wonderful, despite so many problems along the way

I thoroughly enjoy Marian's books ... this is now my second favourite (after Rachel's holiday)
