The Artania Chronicles

Eleven-year-old Bartholomew can’t go to school, play outside, or worst of all, make art - so he sketches in secret. After he meets the skateboarding painter Alexander DeVinci, they're yanked into another realm by a magical painting. Their own world is very different in comparison to Artania: a world with living paintings and sculptures. They soon learn that Artania is on the verge of destruction, and Bartholomew's art is the only thing that can save it. With both gods and goddesses at his side, Bartholomew braves battles, duels, and skateboarding escapes. 

Mona Lisa has been kidnapped. It has been a year since Alex and Bartholomew first ventured into the mystical Artania. Once again, they are called upon to keep this art-created world safe. But peril awaits them at every turn. Traitorous pirates. Fearful gods and goddesses. Monsters of the deep. Artania's safety lies in their hands. With their spunky sidekick Gwen, Alex and Bartholomew return to Artania to save Mona Lisa from the ruthless pirates. But are they too late?

Dragons have disappeared from Artania. A shadowy threat looms over the realm. Alex, Bartholomew, and Gwen return to Artania, to help bring the elusive dragons back to the sky. With battles in the skies, dangerous outlaws, and enchanted scrolls, the three teens will need to find strength they never knew they had. But can they prevail against an overwhelming enemy...or will all of Artania turn to dust?

Ever since Bartholomew Borax III returned to being homeschooled, Mother has been so cleaning-obsessed and cruel that all he dreamed of was finding another portal to the magical Artania. Until now. With doorways opening without warning and thrusting him through time and space, he has no idea where he’ll end up next.
