Deputy Thomas Rodney is no stranger to tense situations. Having served multiple tours in the worst of environments, facing death had practically become just another day at the office. But nothing could have prepared him for this. In a woodland county in the Pacific Northwest, a sinister presence has awakened. A roadwork crew has disappeared without a trace; a truck is found run off the road; a lakefront property is mysteriously vacant, its roof damaged as though something large descended from high above; and an eerie quiet has overtaken the countryside.

Since the defeat of the wasp invasion, the elite organization G.O.R.E. Sector have remained busy in its hunt for giant organisms. At the forefront of its operations is Captain Thomas Rodney and the members of Raptor Pack. Their reconnaissance leads them to Badger County, Wyoming, where a new hive of giant hornets has been discovered.

The members of G. O. R. E. Sector can never catch a break. Following the disappearance of numerous vessels, Thomas Rodney leads the members of Raptor Pack to Mauto, a small island nation in the Pacific Ocean. Utilizing the inventions of Dr. Howard Tate, they set out to determine the cause. Before long, the ugly truth reveals itself. A menacing threat has awakened, and it is unlike anything they have yet faced. Multi-limbed, armored, and capable of great bursts of speed, the latest of mutations seeks to rule the sea and eradicate anything that dares challenge it.

In the Pacific Ocean, three miles deep, lies a deep gorge known as the Half-Moon Trench. It is a place of literal darkness, unknown to most of the world. Now, it is home to an advanced deep-underwater mining facility known as the Scarlett Caldera. Owned by a powerful corporation, it operates with the goal of harvesting the secret to renewable energy. But now, the Scarlett Caldera has inexplicably gone dark.

After a successful rescue mission, Raptor Pack discovers clues to another illicit scientific operation by the mysterious corporation Brom-Caylen. Following the horrific events inside the Half-Moon Trench, Thomas Rodney vows to get proof of the company’s experimentation with the Ecclesiastes particles.

Forced by the government, G.O.R.E. Sector relinquishes custody of the X41 meteorite, recovered on the island of Zil Nesans, to a facility in Arizona. Utilizing special equipment invented by none other than Dr. Howard Tate, Raptor Pack inspects the interior of the facility, suspicious of the intentions of those running it. As the evening goes on, the scientists on site begin their experiments at the behest of a powerful senator.
