American Fallout

Secrets have a way of surfacing in an apocalypse. Ellena Reed, stripped of her EMT license, has spent the last few months living with the ghosts of her marriage and past failures. Jax Mercer is on the run—though from whom, he won’t say. They’re strangers in a campground until an incoming missile alert forces them into an uneasy alliance. It confirms what they feared: the United States has started World War III—and there will be no winners.

After nuclear strikes destroy most of the United States, EMT Ellena Reed—stripped of her license for freezing when it mattered most—leads a group of survivors west toward a rumored bunker in the Rockies. Her stepsister, Button, is ailing. Nuclear winter is setting in. And there's a rumor that Yellowstone is about to erupt. Every encounter forces impossible choices: trust armed strangers or risk the journey alone, travel west while other survivors head east, hold onto humanity or do what it takes to survive. Ellena must decide who lives and who dies—and find a way to live with those decisions.

Ellena Reed has found safety in a Rocky Mountain nuclear bunker. Six months later, air is running out, and she has no choice but to join a small group of refugees traveling to a mythical “billionaire’s bunker” sixty miles to the south. But the Yellowstone eruption has transformed the landscape into a desolate volcanic wasteland. And the group isn’t alone: some animals survived the blasts, and they aren’t all human.

After crash landing on a desolate beach in Baja California, pregnant EMT Ellena Reed and her fellow survivors battle starvation, hostile strangers, and internal betrayal. When a selfish survivor steals their medical supplies, Ellena is pushed to her limits to save the dying. Amidst unimaginable grief and impossible moral choices, the group attempts to forge a new community—but not everyone is willing to forgive and forget.
