Cephrael’s Hand, book one in the series, was author Melissa McPhail’s debut novel, and she continues to work on A Pattern of Shadow and Light. McPhail’s love of writing and fantasy came from a childhood surrounded by music that blossomed into a passion for all art forms. But it was her studies at the Delphian School in Oregon that truly planted the seeds for the series, with a combination of writing, reading, and philosophy that eventually inspired her foray into fantasy.
A Pattern of Shadow and Light has received numerous recognitions, including National Indie Excellence Award Finalist in the fantasy category, TopShelf Indie Book Award Finalist, and Foreword Reviews’ 2014 INDIEFAB Book of the Year Silver Winner for Fantasy.
