The Elves have established a glorious Imperium to stand guard against those who serve the Under Realm. Now, rumors spread to the capital city of Lorthal about an army of Rusca amassing in the Far North. The Imperium must stand strong in these trying times and elect a new High Warden to lead their armies against those who threaten their safety.

Fordi, an Elf captured by the Rusca, is being escorted by his captors to a secret stronghold deep within Imperium territory. Along their way, the Rusca are ambushed by the Elven hero known as the Shadow. Fordi is saved, but his rescuer holds a grudge of vengeance he is determined to fulfill against the barbaric Men of the Far North.
