There's a worldwide epidemic of chronic diseases, including cancer, and the cancer epidemic also involves dogs. There's a link between the modern diet and cancer. Eating five or more servings of plants (fruits and vegetables) daily reduces risk of developing cancer, but it's hard to do this. Most people aren't aware the modern diet is deficient in unique plant phytoalexins called salvestrols, compounds produced by fruits, vegetables, and herbs that haven't been raised with synthetic chemicals ("organic" in the United States) to defend from predators, particularly fungi.
