The Apologies From a Repentant Christian series is the continuing story of a Christian pilgrim’s walk personified. Part I tells of an unrepentant sinner who surrendered her heart to God, embraced His forgiveness for her sins and received her new identity in Christ. Part II tells of the next stage of this Christian’s walk: a new believer faces rejection, spiritual battles, and learns how to live in a corrupted temple of flesh.

Many people wonder, “Is Jesus Christ even real?” For 38 years, I wondered too! I called myself a Christian because I wore a cross, prayed to God and attended church regularly. Yet, I lied, gossiped, and judged others without mercy. I misrepresented my God with my behavior, attitude, and words. Such was my life. In my prayers, I asked God to use my life to glorify Him but was ill-prepared for the response. I was arrested and charged with a felony! In deep and dark despair, I turned to Jesus Christ for help. He was there to save me, as I sorrowfully repented for my past sinful behavior.

The Beatitudes illustrate the ways of God. With genuine faith, true Christian disciples willingly embrace what many choose not to experience out of fear, conformity, or slothfulness. And in return for their desire to magnify God’s glory in a darkened world, God blesses them with His presence, peace, comfort, and encouragement, culminating in an abundance of heavenly joy! Oh, the joy that comes from living out the Beatitudes!
