Most days, I steal from ships to earn a living. Not glamorous, admittedly, but it's honest work. Okay, fine. It isn't honest either, but it means I get to eat. I'm struggling with my dark side - the demon within me - and only Samael can help. He’s decided we're dangerous for each other, but I know we need to join forces. If we can't defeat the Free Men together, I will lose myself to the demon within, and a darkness will spread across Albia.

This book doesn’t care about your job title. (It doesn’t really care if you call yourself a leader.) It does care that we move on from talking about grit, resilience, gravitas, confidence, and commerciality as if that’s the way we create the world we’re longing for. It cares that we stop walking ourselves into burnout or choosing to die in a ditch over things that don’t matter much at all. It cares that we stop treating work as a daily battle. It deeply cares that we learn how to apply more heart and wisdom to what we do.
