Poco antes de la muerte de Franco, en la madrugada del 27 de septiembre de 1975, tres jóvenes fueron ejecutados en la sierra de Madrid. Daniel, Hidalgo y Pito habían sido detenidos y torturados por la policía, acusados de matar ese verano a un policía y a un guardia civil. La condena se impuso sin juicio legal y de forma precipitada, después de una farsa militar en la que no hubo pruebas ni posibilidad de defensa. Junto a otras dos ejecuciones, aquellos jóvenes fueron los últimos fusilados por el Régimen.
