James Augustine Aloysius Joyce was born in 1882 in Dublin but spent most of his life living with Nora Barnacle in various parts of Europe. Apart from a collection of verse, Dubliners was his first published work in 1914. In Dubliners, Joyce portrays quite brilliantly human relationships in Ireland at the turn of the century. His characters are so vital and exciting and the stories so fresh, evocative, and entertaining that they could well have been written today.

Lesion is silent and deadly if you’re on the wrong side of his Bayou. After Lesion rescues a human butterfly named Tully from New Orleans demons, he’s wondering what to do with her. She’s too good for a corrupt world and decides to keep her in his Bayou and train her in the arts of apothocary. Soon, he wants to learn from her. She agrees to become his first female subject but the things he learns while exploring his human treasure lands him in more trouble than he knows how to get out of.
