Protector of Light, Fiona Farrow, has just survived a near blood sacrifice, and now another of the Sacred Scrolls has been stolen. This time from the head of the Ancient Order of Vampires. Protector of Light, Fiona Farrow, is finally reunited with her parents, but the country has been demolished and humans are flocking to a new city to worship an all-powerful demon mage by the name of Cagliostro. When Fiona discovers Cagliostro's plan to destroy the Monarchy, her only choice is to try and stop him. But this won't be easy. She can't use her magical Armor without being detected and hunted down, and must overcome alluring vampires, forceful demons and a traitor in her midst if she wishes to reach her target.

Ava didn't want to be right. Not about her city. Not about their leader, Chief Morray. But when Joseph gives her a secret journal from the past, the truth is revealed. She escapes with Joseph to the Outside, sending Chief Morray on an obsessive pursuit to retrieve his property. Ava has to decide if she should keep running, or return to the city center to save her people.

Seventeen years after the disappearance of former city center leader, Chief Morray there has been peace among the West Coast regions. But in Ojai Village, there is very little peace between Ava and her 16-year-old daughter, Grace. Both have different ideas about what it takes to maintain independence. Grace comes across some digital footprints inside the mainframe, convincing Ava that Morray is back to seek revenge and reclaim control.

In book two, Ava's journey continues as she searches inside the mainframe to find Chief Morray. She locates his archive files, sending her way back to the early days. Society was collapsing, but young, idealistic William Morray had hoped his father's acclaimed Repatterning Program - a precursor to the brilliant New Agenda - could manage the upheaval and get things back on track. They said the Repatterning Program was for the greater good, but like most advertising, it was a lie.
