Philip Mantle is one of the UK’s best known UFO researchers. He entered into UFO research and investigation in 1980 when he joined the Yorkshire UFO Society (YUFOS) which had its HQ in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire, just a few miles from where he lived. In later years he would go on to join the British UFO Research Association (BUFORA) and the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). In 2015 he founded Flying Disk Press, a one man book publishing endeavour which has now published over 30 books.

This audiobook, Pascagoula - The Closest Encounter, tells the story of one of the classic close encounters currently on record. This audiobook features for the first time the full transcript of Calvin Parker's hypnotic regression session with the late Budd Hopkins, one of the world's foremost researchers of this phenomena. 

It was October 11th, 1973 when two local men, Calvin Parker & Charles Hickson, went fishing after work on the Pascagoula River, Mississippi. That night they encountered a UFO and claimed they were abducted by three strange looking humanoid beings.

British UFO researcher Philip Mantle began his active involvement in ufology in 1980 when he joined the newly formed Yorkshire UFO Society. One of the first UFO cases that he investigated was a landing case in the West Yorkshire town of Normanton in England. This incident took place only a few miles from where he lived. The case in question was to do two things: The first was to confirm that he was not wasting his time investigating this phenomenon, and the second was to give him a lifelong interest in both UFOs and in particular UFO landing cases.

The UFO subject as we know it came to the public’s attention on June 24, 1947, when private pilot Kenneth Arnold, flying over the Cascade Mountains in the USA, witnessed a formation of objects that he could not identify. Speaking later to a journalist regarding the encounter, Arnold was asked how this formation of objects moved through the air, and his response was: “Like skipping a saucer across a pond.” From that moment on, the coined phrase "Flying Saucer" was born.

The alien abduction encounter that took place on the Pascagoula River, Mississippi on October 11th, 1973 is now probably the best documented case of its kind. This book continues where the last one left off and documents even more information. There is of course a summary of the events of October 1973 which involved Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker. Like previous books this one yet again puts even more firsthand eyewitness accounts on the record. These witnesses have either stepped forward of their own accord or have been located by the author.
