She is strange but gutsy, and so good at joining in his invented game that Tris doesn’t take seriously the menacing character who she claims is after her - at least, not until they are caught up in a dangerous situation which threatens both their lives...

Margaret Mahy is one of the very best childrens writers. Her inventive stories and humour are both incredible and delightful. In 'The Downhill Crocodile Whizz' a crocodile is sent a pair of skates by his Grandma and ignoring her warning sets off to have fun. In 'Elephant Milk Hippopotamus Cheese' a giant helps Weedy finally grow into her enormous feet. Absolute joy.

Something is happening down in the dump, but Dinsmore's school principal doesn't want him to know about it....
