Torino, inizio d’estate. Isa, ventenne studentessa universitaria, organizza una festa nella villa dei genitori. L’unico a non essere ancora arrivato è Ezio, l’invitato che Isa aspetta con più ansia. Da un regalo anonimo salta fuori un biglietto minaccioso: se entro l’una di notte nessun invitato avrà il coraggio di toccare il casuario dei vicini, Ezio morirà. Il casuario è una sorta di struzzo, ma parecchio più pericoloso: con il suo artiglio lungo e affilato come un coltello, è in grado di uccidere una persona. Isa e i suoi amici reagiscono ciascuno in modo diverso.
