In 2012 I moved to Chamonix in the French Alps after almost ten years as a broadcast journalist in London. The allure of the mountains was just too strong! This podcast is all about climbing, alpinism, winter sports and everything else mountainous regions have to offer.

I’m a travel writer with a love of history. My work has been published in various places but while I enjoy writing for others, my most meaningful experiences come from personal journeys – those moments when the past is tangible and history comes alive in unexpected ways. These are the stories that stick with me long after I get home. I wanted a place to share these personal history moments – so here it is, Katy’s History Travels.
