As ex-actress Sophie LaFleur settles into her new role as pub owner, her past gig as an amateur sleuth keeps sneaking into her current reality. Local gossip and a cryptic message have her on a new case and this time, it's personal. Rumor has it her grammy killed none other than Sophie’s grandfather back in the eighties. That’s a plot twist straight out of Hollywood. But this murder isn’t scripted. Nor is the dead body in the wall of her guesthouse.

Sophie is thrilled her life is going so well. Her pub is (mostly) financially secure. She’s dating her hunky pub manager. Her best friend, Oliver, is visiting from California and she’s rented out her macabre guesthouse to a group of skiers on holiday. She’s even handling the cold weather with aplomb. That is, until they are hit by an unexpectedly bad Nor’ Easter. Now, the skiers, along with most of her staff, are stuck at Steamys pub. Sophie is creative, so she’s confident she can make the most of a bad situation. Then one of the skiers is found dead, frozen outside her llama, Jack’s, barn.
