Luella Murphy and her parents set out to start a new life in the gold rush town of Sacramento, California that was until Luella’s parents passed away on board the ship. Luella (Lilly) decided to continue on, although she was incredibly young there was little else to do. After years of punishing and demanding work, she finally found a tent saloon to work at.

Chance's story takes a look into the life of the famous Elvin character from the Pirate Vixen series. Many characters from the incredible Pirate Vixen series make an appearance in this audiobook, such as Thurber, the famous Captain Redbeard, Captain Ariella before she was Captain of the Red Dawn (she was just a wee lass), Torgus, and a few others to the listener's surprise.

Fernando Greythorn and Captain Ariella of the Red Dawn have enough passion for each other to burn down any enemy ship that strikes them. The pirate couple unites as one they also double their fleet, making this duo the most badass pirate crew to ever sail the high seas; however, not everything is what it seems in this peaceful love story. They take on some of the most fearless, merciless, and hungry pirates they’ve ever went up against, and it's not only pirates they face this time.

Pirate Vixen: A Test of Fate brings the listener back onboard the Red Dawn ship with Captain Ariella; this time, she is not only battling the wicked, but also her own wills.
