Reflexio, Latin for “reflection,” helps us think deeply about the implications of the exciting shifts in the global mission movement. Reflexio’s purpose is to contribute to conversations within our global Christian community by sharing thoughtful and respectful conversations with men and women from across the globe. We highlight the voices of mission practitioners who are seldom part of our conversations to better learn from one another.

Do you have a nagging feeling that you're not experiencing all the joy the Bible promises? Do life’s challenges and the daily grind often leave you feeling empty and spiritually drained? If so, is this biblical joy just an illusion? It’s not. But understand that our joy in life is diminished because we do not fully embrace God’s Word. Many Christians pick and choose interpretations of Scripture based on what feels comfortable, and on the progressive views of the modern Church.

Muslims who come to Christ face momentous spiritual, psychological and social obstacles that drive many to abandon their faith. Often conversion and discipleship are framed by individualistic Western models that do not acknowledge the communal cultural forces that constrain and shape new believers. Effective discipleship requires a more relational, holistic process of Christian identity development and spiritual formation in community.
