In 2022, I started exploring podcasting. After trying out three different podcast names, gaining some followers, and creating great content, I decided to walk away at the end of 2023. After a year of self-discovery, I realized I needed to share what I had learned.In phase one, I named my podcast "Let's Haver." The word "haver" means to babble, a term from Scotland (maybe also Ireland) and Newfoundland, but it didn’t feel right to me.In phase two, I chose the name "From Cape Breton: It's Saturday Night!" This felt a bit better as it aligned more with my vision for my brand and podcast. ...

We are a people of stories. We use them to entertain, to teach, and to instruct. Sometimes they warn us of the dangers of wandering too far into the woods, or they can be a detailed story to explain how magnificent landscapes came to be. Story has always been the way we pass time, the way we connect to each other, and most importantly, how we promote our values. Parables, especially, have a dual purpose.
