My assignment on Earth is coming to an end. Handing over projects is always bittersweet as an anthropologist, having to say "goodbye" to people I've come to know while studying their culture. However, this time is different. I have fallen in love with a human woman, and I want her to come with me. But there are some issues. She doesn't know I'm not human and not only that, but I'll be asking her to leave Earth, her friends and family behind. Will she say come with me?

I attended a Halloween party in New Orleans with another officer from the Alliance Force. We all need to find wives, and costume parties are some of the best places to meet human women as they think our grey skin is a part of our costume. At this All Hallows’ Eve party, I met Ivy. We talked and then exchanged contact information. Not a day goes by that we don’t communicate with each other. She’s the most wonderful woman I’ve ever met. But the problem is, she thinks I’m human.

HUMANS ARE THE MOST ADORABLE CREATURES IN THE GALAXY. Everyone says so. Is it such a surprise that an Alpha Imperial Warship would take human prisoners? Most definitely, everyone knows, the Alliance never takes prisoners. Once onboard, the crew of the Dakota are casually informed that human women from the crew are now shockingly considered to be Alliance citizens by the Empire. Moreover, they will be returning to the Alliance homeworld.

A year ago, I reluctantly erased my true other half’s memories of our time together. She said that if we were truly meant to be married, our souls would find each other again. Now, I’ve illegally traveled to Earth and have found her alone in a secluded cabin. I only have a few days to convince her of who I am to her. But the odds are against me. She didn’t recognize me on sight, no longer has a translator, and sees me as an alien. But I refuse to give up. There is no one else for me in the galaxy.

I am the Ambassador to the Agnorrian Empire and bearer of the goddess of home’s eye. I am one of the most important men in the Alliance Empire. To ease the pain, she agrees to an Alliance telepathic medical procedure that suppresses her emotional attachment to Jim. Kol is an Alliance trader and part-time pirate, but when Admiral Tir asks him to retrieve a woman from Earth, despite his reservations about abductions, he could hardly deny the future Emperor of the Alliance. Now Kol may be new to kidnapping, but he’s not new to the filth of the galaxy, and this young woman has been living in one of the filthier places he had ever seen. Morally, he feels he has done her a favor in saving her from galactic poverty. He keeps reassuring her that he is taking her to a better place. Kol doesn't even begin to understand her frustration at being taken.

Her friends think she has lost her mind, but she feels compelled to apply at their embassy in Paris to become an Alliance man’s bride and live on the other side of the galaxy. Follow Babette as one of the 1,000 human women brought over by Admiral Tir just following Captain Kara Rainer’s trial.

Walking toward the nearest town, I see bonfires and hear humans singing. I wonder momentarily if I’ve time traveled into the past. Thankfully my hood covers my face, which is the tell-tale sign I’m not human. But I’ll have to find someone to help me to contact the Alliance Force. They don’t even know I’m on Earth. My mission was so secret that no one but the High Council knew.

TRADED. Dru has been traded by her captain to the Alliance Empire. She and the rest of the female crew from the human starship Dakota are to be married off, as the Alliance is suffering from a demographics issue, there aren’t enough Alliance women. Dru doesn’t care what kind of problems the Alliance has, she didn’t come this far, in her short life, to end up as a grey, alien man’s wife, no matter how powerful his civilization.

I have seven weeks to meet and marry a human woman. If I don’t, I will lose my position as Commander of the Alliance Force. Since I took command, my attempts to meet eligible women have been disastrous. Lev, our resident anthropologist, has suggested I attend Oktoberfest in Munich. His rationale is that I like beer and the comradery of dancing and singing and will be surrounded by women who also enjoy the same activities. I always advise my officers to mingle with humans at their festivals.
