A daily devotional for those who are thirsty for more of God’s Word. Our bodies benefit greatly from the consumption of water, but we must pick up the glass or cup and drink the contents to benefit from it. The same is true of living water. We must become acquainted with the giver of living water and accept his gift of life drinking deeply of him. The water he gives never goes stagnant. It’s always moving, alive, sustaining life. In his own words he tells us, “But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” (John 4:14).

Growing up in religion, I believed that I was blessed as long as I was doing something productive for God, or I was forgiven as long as I begged and pleaded for forgiveness. The words "free" or "gift" never clicked. Whenever I heard the gospel, there was a contingent on it, "You are saved by grace through faith, but…" This "but" would always lead to something extra one must do not to lose this free gift. This mixed message left me confused, burnt out, and further away from God.
