In 2001, a group of Portland, ME area theatrical professionals began creating a series of audio theatre programs: Nightmares on Congress Street, "classic horror stories to chill and thrill". These productions have all been broadcast on Maine's NPR station for the past few Halloween Eves.

The primary character is recovering from the loss of his wife of nearly 25 years. He uses the experience of his past to rescue a stranger and then protects that person from an attempted kidnapping. The scenes of the book are set in present-day rural West Texas with events occurring in Houston and on Galveston Island. The author uses colorful descriptions of the areas, people, and actions to draw in the listener.

Simon Peter - Sifted as Wheat examines the sad episode of Peter's denial of the Lord. "Simon, Simon," the Lord says, "behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat; but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not; and when thou art converted (restored), strengthen thy brethren." Simon got his warning here; if he had only taken heed of it, what a different sequel would have been recorded! If he had only been chaff and not really wheat, Satan would not have wanted to sift him.
