The Garden Party is a 1922 short story by Katherine Mansfield. It was first published (as "The Garden-Party") in three parts in the Saturday Westminster Gazette on 4 and 11 February 1922, and the Weekly Westminster Gazette on 18 February 1922. It later appeared in The Garden Party: and Other Stories. Its luxurious setting is based on Mansfield's childhood home at 133 Tinakori Road (originally numbered 75), the second of three houses in Thorndon, Wellington that her family lived in. The wealthy Sheridan family prepares to host a garden party.

At the harbour Fenella and her grandmother say goodbye to Fenella's father and board the Picton boat; a number of everyday situations are described during the journey, which highlight a degree of tension between the rather religious grandmother and staff on the boat. At Picton they are met by Mr Penreddy with a carriage.

Mr. and Mrs. Dove is a 1921 short story by Katherine Mansfield. It was first published in The Sphere on 28 November 1921, and later reprinted in The Garden Party and Other Stories. Reginald is returning to Rhodesia the next day; it is his last day in England. Again he thinks of Anne; then he goes to Colonel Proctor's to say goodbye, and he is greeted by Anne, her parents being away. On seeing him she laughs, then he tells her he is leaving. They both look at her pet doves. She remarks how "Mr. Dove" is always running after "Mrs. Dove".

L'hautaine Laura est chargée de diriger les travailleurs, tandis que sa sœur, Jose, teste le piano. C'est alors que la famille apprend le décès de leur voisin, Mr Scott. Faut-il annuler la réception ?

"Au matin, très tôt. Le soleil n'était pas encore levé et la baie toute entière était cachée par un brouillard blanc venu de la mer. Les grandes collines recouvertes de brousse, au fond, étaient submergées." "Sur la baie" est une nouvelle de Katherine Mansfield publiée pour la permière fois en 1922 dans le London Mercury. C'est l'une des œuvres les plus accomplies de l'auteure et un excellent exemple d'impressionnisme littéraire. On y retrouve Kezia et Lottie, deux caractères qui figurent aussi dans "Prélude".

"Mariage à la mode" est une nouvelle de Katherine Mansfield publiée pour la première fois en 1921 dans "The Sphere". Elle raconte l'histoire de William et de sa femme Isabel. Normalement, William achète des friandises pour ses enfants, sachant que sa femme ne veut pas qu'il les gâte avec d'autres cadeaux, mais cette fois-ci, il leur rapportera des fruits. La famille vient de quitter Londres pour la campagne, et quand le mari rejoint sa femme, il la trouve fort changée.
