Jonathan Swifts Werke werden mit Recht dem Kanon der Welt-Literatur zugerechnet, weil sie das widerspiegeln, was dem jeweiligen Zeitgeist entspricht und weil ihre Erzählungen von dem handeln, was von zeitloser Ästhetik und Würde ist.

Bei „Anweisungen für Dienstboten“ handelt es sich um eine Zusammenfassung von Ratschlägen für alle Kategorien von Untergebenen, welche folgende Prämissen zum Inhalt haben: Wie drückt man sich ohne Bestrafung von möglichst jeder Art von Arbeit?
