Schnell stellt sich heraus, dass Yuki einfach alles besser und schneller kann als Roboterkatze Plutinchen. Die Wissenschaftler überlegen daher, die beiden gegeneinander auszutauschen, was Tom und Stella überhaupt nicht gefällt. Als letzter, umfassender Test ist eine Notfallsimulation geplant, in der sich alle Besatzungsmitglieder bewähren müssen und der für die Zukunft von Plutinchen entscheidend ist. Doch dann kommt es ungeplant zu einem echten Notfall und die Roboterkatze gerät wirklich in Gefahr.
