I thought my life was finally going my way. Boy, was I wrong. When a new job lands in my lap from the Dark Witch Court, with a very large paycheck, I take it. It should have been an easy gig. Kara learns that the evil Seirs are slaughtering Sensitives that refuse to swear an allegiance to Lilith—the Netherworld’s princess and her diabolical half-sister. While on assignment, Kara discovers that Lilith is searching for an ancient weapon that can destroy mankind.

Sie wollen nicht Shay. Sie wollen dich. Okay, das waren nicht die Worte, die ich aus dem Mund meines Engelsvaters Matiel erwartet hatte. Aber hier waren sie. Die Gilde der Engel-Assassinen will meinen Tod. Fantastisch. Ich meine, was muss eine Hexe heutzutage tun, um eine Atempause zu bekommen? Ich kann nicht einmal spazieren gehen, ohne dass jemand versucht, mich zu töten. Schlimmer noch, ich habe keine Ahnung, warum sie mich jagen. Aber ihr wisst ja, was man sagt: Wenn das Leben dir Zitronen gibt, mach Limonade daraus. Und ich habe eine ganze Menge Zitronen, mit denen ich arbeiten kann.

Alles, was ich tun wollte, war, mich zurückzulehnen und mit einem gewissen, sehr, sehr heißen, Wergorilla zu entspannen. Aber stattdessen muss ich mich damit beschäftigen, die Königin der Hölle zu finden. Hatte ich sie gefunden? Nein, noch nicht. Und mir gehen langsam die Orte aus, an denen ich suchen kann. Ich weiß, dass es nur eine Frage der Zeit ist, bis sie etwas Dummes tut, wie z. B. eine ganze Stadt auszulöschen, nur weil sie sich dort jemand besser gekleidet hat als sie. So ist sie nun mal. Sehr eitel. Aber ich habe noch schlimmere Probleme.

Ne manquez pas le prochain livre de la série, Les sorcières de New York.« Ils ne veulent pas de Shay. C'est toi qu'ils veulent. »D'accord, ce ne sont pas les mots auxquels je m'attendais, venant de la bouche de mon père ange, Matiel. Mais ils étaient bel et bien là. La Guilde des Anges Assassins veut ma mort. Fantastique. Je veux dire… Qu'est-ce qu'une sorcière doit faire pour s'en sortir, de nos jours ? Je ne peux même pas me promener tranquillement sans que quelqu'un essaie de me tuer ! Pire encore, je n'ai aucune idée de la raison pour laquelle ils me pourchassent.

Die Vampirin Freida hat Shay entdeckt. Na toll. Es gibt wohl keine Ruhe für die Bösen, wie man so schön sagt. Bin ich wütend? Nur ein bisschen. Als Sternenlicht-Hexe habe ich schon so manchen Kampf hinter mir. Ich meine, seien wir ehrlich, eine Hexe zu sein ist schon schwer genug, aber wenn dann noch eine kleine Schwester dazukommt, wird es verrückt. Shay trägt die Kraft der Sonne in sich und jeder will ein Stück davon, auch die böse Vampirin Freida. Sie will meine kleine Schwester für ihre eigenen ruchlosen Zwecke benutzen, aber ich werde das nicht zulassen.

Ne ratez pas L’Ange des ombres, le prochain tome de la série Ombre et Lumière. Lucian, le premier des archi-démons déchus, est un abruti de première catégorie. Et il est à ma recherche. Génial.

Eine Serie von grausamen Morden erschüttert New York City und es ist meine Aufgabe, zu versuchen, die mörderischen Mistkerle zu fangen, bevor sie ihr nächstes Opfer töten. Aber etwas stimmt nicht. Ils sont bien pires encore.
