Saffron Sawyer is on her own. Smoke is still rising from the brutal and unnecessary destruction of the five vampire families...and Bo is in hiding. She won't be able to keep herself away for long, however. An old case and old rivalries rise to the surface and force her to face not just the new realities which London presents, but the darkness that continues to dwell inside her. And then there's the small matter of bitter revenge to consider, too.

Devereau Webb is riding high. He's a powerful werewolf with a killer combination of intelligence, wits, and strength, and he's learning more and more about his abilities every day. He isn't usually the type to take orders, however, and that has to change with his new role as a supernatural spy within the British security services. Tasked with heading to Rome to infiltrate a mysterious gang with terrorist links, Devereau has to call on all his newfound skills to prevent disaster from happening.

The specter of what really happened to her parents is casting a shadow over everything, while Fomori demons are being sighted up and down the Highlands. It doesn't help that Aifric Moncrieffe still seems determined to see her dead, and emerald-eyed Byron remains stubbornly blind to his father's true nature. Integrity is determined to stay in control of her own destiny, however, even if it means confronting the darkness across the Veil yet again.

Das liegt nicht zuletzt an dem attraktiven Vampirlord Lukas Horvath, für den sie mittlerweile mehr als nur körperliche Anziehung empfindet.

Si quelqu'un peut comprendre ce que reposer en paix veut dire, c'est bien Ivy. Enfin, "se" reposer en paix, en tout cas. Tout juste remise sur pied après son affrontement macabre avec un nécromancien, Ivy est de nouveau plongée dans un monde de mystère, d'aventure, et de désastre imminent. C'est pas de sa faute: apparemment, elle est désormais la seule personne au monde à pouvoir communiquer avec les morts. Et malheureusement pour elle, ils ont la langue bien pendue et une grosse liste de réclamations.

Mack parviendra-t-elle à découvrir d'où elle vient ? Mack entame sa formation à l'académie des mages, en espérant que si elle se plie aux règles, ils accepteront de lever le sortilège de stase qui emprisonne sa vieille amie, Mme Alcoon. Mais une fois arrivée là-bas, elle se retrouve entourée de professeurs hostiles et d'élèves désagréables, dont la grande majorité semble bien décidée à la voir échouer.

Die kleine Abteilung der Supernatural Squad gewinnt langsam an Einfluss, die Vampire und Werwölfe von London beginnen sie zu respektieren und endlich hat sie das Gefühl, dass sie überhaupt weiß, was sie in ihrer neuen Position tun soll. Doch Emma hat keine Zeit, Atem zu holen, denn ein Vampir klettert auf das London Eye und drei Werwölfe entführen einen Touristenbus.

Moteur. Ça tourne... Inaction ! Ivy Wilde, paresseuse sorcière de l'Ouest et addict de la Sieste, est toujours obligée de faire copain-copain avec le Saint Ordre des Lumières Magiques. Ce qui n'est pas si mal, hein, vu que ça lui donne un prétexte du tonnerre pour passer plus de temps avec Raphaël Winter, son pseudo-Némésis aux yeux saphir. Et quand il toque à sa porte en lui demandant d'aller jouer l'espionne sur le tournage de sa série préférée, Enchantement, elle saute sur l'occasion. Glander sur un plateau télé, c'est sûrement pas difficile.
