Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a young girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as with children.

In a family restaurant, friends gather. A woman walks in the door and a child runs up, "Crystal, tell me a story". She responds, "After dinner, I'll see if I have story tickets". If she does (and the timing works), each child gets a ticket. Each child gets to decide who is in their story (princess, unicorn, dragon, robot, and so on) and what those characters are named. Sylvie and Bruno was the last novel completed by Lewis Carroll and was published in two parts. The first volume, which is the subject of this recording, appeared in 1889. The story is presented by an unnamed narrator, who oscillates between two worlds: a fantasy fairyland, populated by characters similar to those in Alice in Wonderland, and the real world environs of a small village by the sea, in which the narrator has taken up temporary residence for health reasons.

Pourtant, lorsqu'elle le voit sortir une montre à gousset de sa poche et s'écrier : "Je suis en retard ! En retard ! En retard !", elle se dit que décidément ce lapin a quelque chose de spécial.
