A woman dragged down by racism, but overcomes all. Winnifred "Winny" Jane Dixon, born August 1, 1865, to Jonathan and Brenda Dixon, both born August 1 1845 until July 17, 1880. Winifred Dixon was born to a family who were slaves for the McAllister family in Savannah, Georgia. Her father, Jonathan, was a butler for the family as well as working in the fields of the plantation. Mama was a sex slave for Mr. Bruce McAllister, you see, his wife Annabelle couldn't bare any children. So being that Mr. McAllister wanted children, it was Miss Dixon's responsibility to give him what he wanted.
