New Lanark was one of the largest cotton manufacturing centers in Great Britain, and a model for how employees, both adults and their children were treated by the companies they worked for. Underground Railroad Circle of Hope. Our exploration of the Undergound Railroad continues in Auburn, and includes Harriet Tubman's Home, now a museum. In Auburn New York’s capital, Harriet Tubman lived her older less dangerous years. During the dangerous years, Harriet Tubman was a major part of the Underground Railroad; she helped at last one thousand enslaved people escape to freedom.

The Rainbow Forest Museum is at the southern entrance to the park. Everywhere we walk, lying on the ground are sections of ancient trees that turned to brightly colored stone beginning 225 million years ago.
