After a tense day of fighting off a horde of Undead, Howie and his group of survivors must find shelter before night falls. Moving through a desecrated town, they come across an industrial estate, break into a low building and find themselves in an abandoned radio station. They decide to record their voices for posterity. Even if they can escape, tides prevent them from leaving the island, and they must face Darren and Marcy in a final showdown.

A delivery driver finds himself inside a world occupied by characters from unfinished novels and must accept he is not real. But the world around him doesn’t feel right, and when he starts asking questions, the authorities soon take extreme measures to stop him finding the truth about Fiction Land.

Howie’s group disembark from the Isle of Wight, but when the ferry they take breaks down they climb aboard a Royal Navy supply vessel at anchor outside Portsmouth Harbour to find a huge horde of undead. We meet Maddox and a group of council estate children who have survived the apocalypse by taking refuge in a cannabis plantation. When a horde of undead attack the children, Howie tries to save them only to find they turn on him. Eventually a truce is called, and an uneasy alliance begins to develop.

It is the morning after the storm. Thick fog covers everything. In the stifling, claustrophobic atmosphere, Howie and his group head out for supplies. Skirmishes and tense fights take place and there are messages left in blood at key sites: 'he's coming'. As the day progresses, Howie becomes increasingly darker in thought, and more demanding of his team. By the end of the day they have discovered a munitions factory, but can Howie hold it together?

As the postapocalyptic world moves into the third week, Howie is starting to feel the pressure. New faces, new rules, and the infection continues its deadly evolution.

Dave finds an unconscious Howie and carries him into the residential streets for safety. The others have been separated and are searching for each other. Nick falls asleep and misses the pick up.

We meet Lilly and Billy, a brother and sister who are led by their ineffectual father into a series of devastating situations which results in Billy being taken by two men and Lilly witnessing the murder of her father. Lilly tracks her brother and meets up with Nick who, not being able to find his group, agrees to help her.

Chaos overtakes the fort when one of Howie’s group turns and starts killing survivors. Howie and his team are blamed and shunned but carry on their search for fuel to run generators in order to carry out research on the dog. When Marcy realises the infection can cure diseases, and realising she can be strong and good, she decides to head to the fort to hand herself in to be examined, too.

Day 14 culminates with a vicious battle during a storm so huge it changes the landscape around them, leaving Nick with no choice but to tackle the doctor and his men alone.
