I want more!

So this book should have been read between the last 2 Undead Series...but I didn't know that. However, I read it after & it still is a great back story for Heather & Paco. Trust me, you love it & it synchronizes great with the Series. Just listen & enjoy!!! ;)

Special Story

Well that was a lovely surprise. This should be read after book/day 15. Her monster. Everything I can say would be a spoiler. But this side story, adds to the whole series.

Good and Bad

This is my first Zombie book and probably my last.
The first half of the book was pretty good and very funny in places. But the second half of the book made me want to walk into book and slap some sense into Heather and those spoiled ungrateful children they picked up especially the youngest Anya. If it were my child throwing those temper tantrums and putting the whole group at risk. You should have bought muzzle and a spanking she would never forget. Then the book just got monotonous and very repetitive.

Rachel Hine was good with the delivery of the story

Bridget Jones' Dairy of the Apocalypse

That's the title that this book should have been. If you've ever wondered what Bridget Jones would do at the end of the world, I had not, but now we find the answer. I thought I wouldn't be able to get through the entire book, but it's one of those works that grows on you. it's an interesting concept and a new take on zombies. It made the perfect spring break listen.

Great Characters

You do not have to have read the Undead series to enjoy this book, it is a stand alone episode with new characters. For those who have listened to the Undead series, this a wonderful addition to the world we already know.

R.R. Haywood is an author who truly knows how to know write character driven novels. It's love at first read.

Not a zombie fan, but I tried I really did.

Loved the Extracted books, but not this. Long, annoying boring sections of unnecessary clutter that did not add to the characters and were not even funny. This book and narration did not work for me.

Brilliant narration, even though having read the story, it came alive for me on hearing it. so love this series, even the side stories are written with characters so full of grit and determination to survive.

Excellent story

I didn't expect to enjoy this story as much as the rest of the undead series because it doesn't follow Howie, Dave and the group. But I was pleasantly surprised. I loved this book. Bloomin' loved it. As always, RR Haywood's characterisations are fabulous and I enjoyed getting to know Heather.

I didn't listen to this before listening to book 16. But already knowing the ending of this story did not detract from it in any way. I can highly recommend this site sorry to The Undead series.

Strong off story

Being really invested in the main story. It was a little weird in the beginning. Since the main book usually introduce new survivors rather well, and a new narrator on top of. BUT I was just as emotionally invested as always! Excellent book!

An absolute lttle gem !!!

Where does Blood on the Floor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Story is great , and different, but the narration ???? Is wonderful !!! Rachel Hine's soft Bristol drawl , stepped up a notch when paraphrasing the heroine, and a couple more when paraphrasing a farmer !! Sublime !! I struggled for the first hour or so, missing the usual Southern USA growl for a macho storyline, but Rachel imbued the text with comedy, empathy and humanity, probably the only way this story could be told maybe ? I listen to LOADS of dystopian fiction, but this the first book I have come across where the plot is actually improved by the narration ! 12 out of 10 Rachel ! Amazing. I have only got halfway, but couldn't wait to review it !!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Heather

Which character – as performed by Rachel Hine – was your favourite?

Heather ( Paco can't speak of course ! )

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, too long for that

Any additional comments?

Best narration I have ever heard !

More!!!!!!

Keep up coming! I love the standalone stories that merge and diverge from the main story! Don't stop, keep my need for answers and futures for these characters coming. I'm well and truly hooked!

Avoid this one

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I have read and listened to many post apocalyptic novels; I like this genre but I was not prepared for this one; Beauty and the Beast with toilet training!

What could R. R. Haywood have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Spent more time considering the plot; the conflict scenes are repetitive and in between there are poorly drawn characters and a ridiculous emphasis on personal hygiene.

Would you be willing to try another one of Rachel Hine’s performances?

No, her style of reading is not a style that I like.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Blood on the Floor?

All the references to incontinence , menstruation etc. and some of the flight scenes.

Any additional comments?

I rarely write reviews as I am very time poor but I do want to alert other people to this before they buy it; rubbish!!!
