Will was once a truck driver. When he was on Earth, his days were spent alone, traveling the highways for months until he went home to see his wife and family. Then space trucking became the new thing, and they didn't want pilots. They wanted men like him, the ones who were used to the isolation.

When John comes across a bus stranded on the side of the highway, he pulls off to help. Sometimes, in the dead of night, it is better to just keep driving.

George has always hated dirt, but somehow now into his retirement it feels like all he does is work with it. His days seem to fall into a pattern of working his garden to bring in its fruits and vegetables and make his wife happy. Today, though, is different and something else is brought in from the garden.

Truck driving is a lonely profession. It is hard on both the driver, and the families that love them. One of the hardest moments in the drivers life if after being on the road for weeks, they return home for a couple days before leaving again. They leave, and it is then that they must say their goodbyes. For this driver, he must say his final goodbye.

When Randall was tired, driving down a long stretch of highway, he thought it was a blessing to see the Rest Area on the side of the road. However, what he found there was more of a curse, one that now Randall isn't sure he can get away from.
