There’s a powerful darkness growing inside me. I can feel it, igniting my blood with a lust for death. It gets stronger each time I use my magic, and much, much harder to control. And yet, I don’t have a choice. Destiny is calling. What shape it will take, I don’t yet know, but my very blood yearns to answer that call.

The apocalypse began on Bring Your Dog to Work Day. One moment, everything was normal. Then the World Core woke up, and slaughtered almost everything alive so it could harvest their Chi. After that, it rebuilt everything and put the survivors in a game-like environment, pitting them against monsters and each other. The rules are different now. Chi power is as important as being able to fight. I'm one of the survivors. With my knowledge of martial arts and my special Chi skill, I'm turning myself into a force to be reckoned with.

Maybe this world full of jaw-droppingly beautiful women and martial arts magic is just some sort of delusion. Maybe this strong, capable body I’ve found myself in isn’t real. But if it is, then there’s a path that could lead me to everything I’ve ever desired.

Death, it seems, isn’t always the end. I was a soldier, fighting for the lives of the whole damned world, when I went and got myself obliterated by this alien f**k. I figured that was it. Game over, done. But then I woke up in a different body, in a strange world full of dust and ruins, with awesome martial arts skills I’d never had before. All I knew was that there were these monster girls I was supposed to protect from an endless horde of semi-human things.

In the end, only one rule matters. Fight to win. No matter how strong your opponent proves to be, or how bad the odds are of success. Fight to win. Even when it hurts like nothing you’ve ever felt before, and giving up seems to be the best option, you have to keep going. Fight to win.

The first stage is done, but the World Core hasn’t finished with us yet. Now, the trials are about to begin, and time is ticking. Between the carnivorous plants and the mutated competitors, my whole team needs to collect as much Chi as possible if we hope to survive. Leveling up is the name of the game. Growing more powerful to compete with the monsters standing in our way. That’s where my special Chi skill comes into play. It gives us an advantage that others can’t match. And the distinct side effect that comes with it? Well, there has to be some benefit to the new rules.

Turns out, this Hell is being terrorized by an evil king, and he’s hell-bent on bringing all of Hell under his dominion. He also happens to control the portal back to our world, which I very much want to use.

It may sound exciting to ride through Hell to save one of your lovers, but in reality it’s full of blood and magic, orcs and Hellhounds, secrets and revelations. The Wraith King’s minions will do anything to capture or kill me. But I’ve got a plan to strike back. To do it, I just need to keep my own growing urge to kill under control.

A stadium built to hold insane numbers of spectators. Thousands of competitors. Multiple matches every single day. The qualifying tournament has begun.
